Actress Yami Gautam on Wednesday reacted strongly on being snubbed in the recently-held Filmfare Awards for her performance in the hit movie ‘Bala,’ headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana. In an announcement posted on media, Yami wrote that she’s been getting messages for becoming ‘overlooked’ and not being nominated for Bala’ and consequently, she’felt compelled’ to express her views.
The 31-year-old performer said, “Frankly, winning an award does feel as a solid sense of accomplishment and confidence. But greater than this is a sign of acknowledgment, adore, and esteem towards your hard work and ability. The esteemed jury are a few of the most noted and members of the fraternity that have made significant contributions. Hence, I will respectfully accept their views.”
Yami, who won the Screen Award for Best Comedian for’Bala’expressed the snub has made her ‘determined,’ and she believes that you don’t need to find validation for their job.’
“The kind of love I have received this season, by the industry, critics, media, my talented fellow contemporaries and most importantly YOU – my audience, for constantly showing unconditional love – real service, means the world to me personally and is sufficient to encourage me to keep working harder. It doesn’t matter where you come from, that you are, don’t ever quit, and keep walking ahead. It is a very long trip, and I am a hustler, for life,” she concluded.
Stars like Ayushmann Khurrana, Varun Dhawan, Vikrant Massey were one of the others that commented on the article of Yami and said that they’re’proud’ of her.
‘Bala’ earned three nominations at this year’s Filmfare Awards for Ayushmann Khurrana (Best Actor), Seema Pahwa (Best Supporting Actress), and Niren Bhatt (Best Dialogue Writer).
