Ben Affleck was among several cast members to voice his support for the launch of Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League throughout a massive effort back in November 2019, and he now clarifies his stance on the movie in much more detail. Ever since the launch of the theatrical cut, as well as the complete extent of these rewrites and reshoots beneath Joss Whedon, has been disclosed, fans were clamoring for Warner Bros. to launch Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Driven primarily throughout the rallying cry of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut on Twitter, service for Snyder and his DC team-up eyesight has increased over the past two decades, culminating in a significant event on the film’s 2nd anniversary in which the hashtag trended globally and attracted assistance from numerous stars and societal networking influencers along with the list of crew and cast who’d come out in favor of Snyder’s unique cut viewing the light of day.
Following Justice League, Ben Affleck went trough some special issues. He took time away from filmmaking, but using his new film, How Back, he is finally front and center, meaning he is also getting questions about his time at the cape and cowl back again. In a meeting with Cinemablend, Affleck lent his support Snyder and his first Justice League vision.
“I didn’t know about it. Zack was like, ‘Hey, they are doing this thing.’ And I said, ‘Zack, I love you, and I support you. However I can help you. I do think that movie, you know, having two directors is a very weird thing. And for Justice League, the director had family tragedy. … and so you have a kind of cow’s body with a horse’s head a little bit with two directors a lot of times, for better or for worse. I do think Zack’s cut should be available.”
As a significant figure in Hollywood and a multiple Academy Award winner, Affleck’s aid for Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut’s launch is a vital thing. Affleck’s portrayal of Batman suffered considerably from rewrites and reshoots. Therefore it is definitely in Affleck’s best interest too to allow audiences to know there was more to his version of the Caped Crusader compared to awkward jokes ill-fitting batsuit out of Justice League reshoots.
Affleck also recently indicated his decision to resign as the caped crusader was connected to the creation woes he experienced Justice League. After being raised to a producer on the film, Affleck was assumed to get more of a say in the film’s creative leadership and also have a hand in the editing area; however, the choice to own Joss Whedon add almost 80 new pages into the script and reshoot vast chunks of the movie, radically altering the narrative and tone and creating a Frankenstein’s monster of a film (not forgetting Henry Cavill’s equally monstrous CGI upper lip) could have trampled on Affleck’s artistic sensibilities almost up to Snyder.
Now, the sole members of this cast that have not spoken out in favor of this Snyder Cut on the album are Ezra Miller and Henry Cavill. However, Miller (who is not on social websites ) has always been a passionate supporter of both Snyder and even worked together with him on a music video for his group. In contrast, Henry Cavill has downplayed the Snyder Cut when he has been asked about it at several interviews.
It is not apparent if Affleck’s vocal assistance will probably be sufficient to push it on the border. Still, now it is difficult to see Zack Snyder’s Justice League staying locked out indefinitely, and assistance from essential figures such as Affleck will be among those keys to Snyder and the forces which are reaching an arrangement for the completion and launch of this cut.
