Any organization or company registered with more than 50 employees in India can use the open API service of Arogya Setu.
The Union IT Ministry said on Saturday that the team handling the Arogya Setu application had started a feature. Use of this feature can help in restarting the business by following the protocol during the Covid-19 epidemic.
According to the statement of the ministry, the open API service will help various organizations to check the status of health bridge users and integrate many features of work from home.
Any organization or organization registered with more than 50 employees in India can use the open API service of Arogya Setu. Organizations can check real-time updates and health status of their employees by using new features. With this, other users who have agreed to share the information can check their status.
The ministry said that the open API would only provide the Arogya Setu States and user names. No other personal data will be accessible through it.
A statement from the ministry said that Arogya Setu, a government mobile phone-based contract-tracing application designed to identify people with Kovid-19, has helped identify more than 30,000 virus hotspots. This has helped the health authorities and administration to take necessary precautionary measures.
However, many cybersecurity experts had questioned the app regarding privacy. Earlier this month, the Threat Intelligence firm Shadow Map found the login credentials used by the developers of Arogya Setu in a blog post. These accidentally give access to access large parts of the code on a government website. Users can reveal location, contacts and health data when hackers are accessed. However, the government rejected these claims.
