As the showrunners confessed that the 2nd season was also not the area of the program for the series, but as a result of popularity among the viewers earned the series its next season.

The Altered Carbon was the creation of Laeta Kalogridis that was predicated on a 2002 book which goes by precisely the same name by the English author Richard K Morgan. The story was based on the experiences of this interstellar warrior Takeshi Kovacs(portrayed by Joel Kinnaman for period one and Anthony Mackie in Season 2). The story of the 2nd was concluded 30 years following the epic ending of season 1. Takeshi Kovacs was a lone surviving soldier that was the part of elite interstellar warriors. For centuries that he continued the search for his lost love Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry).
