Aldis Hodge that appeared in this season’s remake of ‘The Invisible Man,’ is in final negotiations for Hawkman’s high-flying job in ‘Black Adam.’ Aldis Hodge is likely to join a new thriller featuring the DC Comics antihero starring Dwayne Johnson.
Jaume Collet-Serra, who directed Johnson from the upcoming Disney adventure film Jungle Cruise, is directing.
Johnson collaborator Beau Flynn is generating via FlynnPictureCo along with Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions. Scott Sheldon will oversee FlynnPictureCo and will also function as an executive producer.
The story centers on the character who was first created as Shazam’s archnemesis, back when that squinty-eyed hero was named Captain Marvel but evolved into a more layered individual.
According to the report, an appealing variable for fans is the introduction in ‘Black Adam’ of the Justice Society of America, a multigenerational group that preceded the Justice League. Characters Atom Smasher (to be played by Noah Centineo), in addition to Doctor Fate and Cyclone, who’s yet to be cast, will figure into the story.
Hawkman, who appeared in 1940’s Flash Comics No. 1, is among a pair of fans from Ancient Egypt faking always to be reincarnated throughout time and space, together with many rebirths resulting in emergence as a hawk-themed hero using both giant wings and an alien element referred to ‘nth metal’ which negates gravity and also allows him to soar. In modern times, he’s Carter Hall, and an archaeologist turned adventurer who struggles with anger problems – along with his ability to control a mace.
Black Adam is supposed to start production in late spring or winter of 2021.
