The arrest of absconding main accused Dhirendra Singh in the Ballia firing has not happened so easily. Dhirendra had been absconding to surrender since the incident. For this, he had also contacted some close leaders and police officers. On his advice, Dhirendra wanted to surrender through lawyers. Surrender’s entire plan was made, but on one occasion, STF caught him.
Earlier, Dhirendra had released a video giving his statement of innocence under planning, in which he told that he did not commit the murder.
However, after escaping from Ballia, he came to Lucknow so that he could surrender conveniently. But the government was constantly getting dirty. Due to this, his surrender plan could not be completed.
Therefore, Dhirendra Singh, who is already on surveillance of STF, got killed by the police. When the police caught Dhirendra in the polytechnic area of Lucknow, no one was with him. He did not protest against the arrest, nor did the police use force in any way.
News agency ANI quoted UP STF IG Amitabh Yash as saying that Dhirendra Singh and his associates Santosh Yadav and Amarjeet Yadav were arrested from Lucknow today. All three are being questioned at an undisclosed location. Weapons have also been recovered from Dhirendra’s associates. The STF is collecting more information on the guns used at the time of the incident.
At the moment, the sources say that after completing the inquiry and some formalities, the STF will handover Dhirendra Singh to the Ballia Police. Apart from Dhirendra Singh, two other accused Santosh Yadav, and Amarjeet Yadav has been arrested. A reward of 50-50 thousand rupees was declared on both.
