RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, convicted in the fodder scam case, will get bail or will continue to serve the jail. Friday is very special for Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Because today the bail petition of Lalu Yadav will be heard. The case is listed for hearing in the Cause list number 18 on 6 November in the Jharkhand High Court.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced to 7 years in the Dumka Treasury case. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s lawyer has filed a bail application for Lalu Prasad Yadav based on passing half the sentence period, in which case will be heard today.
If Lalu Prasad Yadav gets bail, then he will be able to come out of jail. Lalu Prasad Yadav has filed a bail petition in the Jharkhand High Court related to illegal withdrawal from Dumka treasury.
Lalu Yadav’s lawyer Prabhat Kumar said that the bail application was given citing the deduction of half of the total sentence. Last month, the Jharkhand High Court granted Lalu Prasad Yadav regular bail in the case of illegal withdrawal from the Chaibasa treasury linked to the fodder scam.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced to 7 years by the Ranchi CBI special court in connection with the illegal withdrawal of crores of rupees from the Dumka treasury. The court also fined Lalu Prasad Yadav. Lalu Yadav has been granted bail in three cases of fodder scam.
At the same time, the CBI is preparing to challenge Lalu’s bail in the Supreme Court. Fodder scam convict Lalu Yadav has been convicted in 4 out of 5 cases. But out of these 4 cases, he has got bail in 3.
Lalu Yadav is facing trial in the fifth case of the fodder scam. This case is about the illegal withdrawal of Rs 139 crore from the Doranda treasury. If Lalu Yadav gets bail on Friday connected with the illegal withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury, the way out of his prison will be cleared.
