The taboo season 1 was quite a magnificent season with a crisp, gripping story with fantastic twist and turns, that take place around 1814, The acting skills of the cast members mesmerised all of us, The return of the James after a very long journey of being away from the limelight at the time of his father’s funeral, reoccupying his father’s shipping company and reopening it, try to find out the reason of his father’s death and many more events perfectly arranged in such a way that it comes up with a perfect and a balanced story that is engaging enough to put the audiences on the edges of their seats. Season 1 ends up with many unanswered questions, and the season 2 will be the answer to those question.
Taboo Season 2 Release Date
Though BBC and the production team officially renew the show for season two in 2017. But till then there have passed three years. Till now there is no news about the upcoming season of Taboo. Even after getting renewal from makers, there is no reveal of the release date. According to our sources, showrunners and BBC are in favor of two more seasons in this franchise. The delay in production can be the major reason for an indefinite release date.
The production work of Taboo is facing several delays for two years. Previously there were delays due to the busy schedule of lead cast Tom Hardy. Now add to this, Corona pandemic and global lockdown is the major barrier. Just not expecting any update on season two of Taboo before 2021.
Taboo Season 2: Possible Cast
The producers of the show haven’t confirmed much of the cast. Though, we know that Tom Hardy will reprise his role as James Delaney. Apart from him, we guess Stephen Atticus would return as Atticus. Joining them, David Hayman would be back to portray Brace. Also, Jessie Buckley (Lorna), Mark Gatiss (Prince George), Edward Hogg (Michael) might make their return as well. However, we don’t expect Oona Chaplin to return as Zilpha in season two.
Taboo Season 2: Storyline
Set in the early nineteenth century, Taboo follows James Delaney. After his father’s death, he returns to London from Africa. The story centres around the dark politics of Britain as the country starts on the path of colonialism. The story also delves into the mystery surrounding James and his plans.
In essence, Taboo is a historical drama/ political thriller. And it tells the story of the early industrial society of London.
